REVIEW: Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse ‘A Difficult Second Outing But Highly Recommend’

By Gary

The Spider-Verse is expanded as Miles Morales second outing as the web-flinging superhero struggles to hit the mark but is also a must see.

The new Spider-Man, Miles Morales, is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence.

When the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles must redefine what it means to be a hero.

Another story about the Multiverse, it seems to be there would be other stories you could tell but everything at the moment seems to involve Multiverse stories.

For me I did prefer the first movie and this one does feel like a middle chapter which is left incomplete.

The animation is absolutely sublime, it is like you are watching a comic book come to life in front of your eyes.

I am going to guess that 10-year-olds, or those sat heart, will love this.

My feelings about Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse are currently glitching. On one hand, the action scenes are spectacular, and the animation is, once again, amazing.

On the other hand, this movie is 2 hours and 20 minutes long and it feels like it. Plus, the visuals can be so kinetic that the film becomes busy and chaotic.

This sequel offers some real drama, however it’s not a complete story, and it ends on a cliffhanger.

I think my rating will solidify when they release Beyond the Spider-Verse and see how it all ends.

The film pays homage to spider-man while offering something new. It’s also just a brilliantly made animated film.

Highly recommended.

My Rating: 8/10
