Cumbria’s Middleton Cup team took another step towards the National Finals while the Walker Cup side played their first game.
There is some sad news out of the West Cumbria Triples as Frizington have announced that they have pulled out of the league.
Eden Valley Mixed Triples
Fitz Park A continue to lead Division One of the Eden Valley Mixed Triples after a 8-2 win over Shap on June 13.
Linton matched Fitz Park’s result with a an 8-2 win at home to Penrith Friars B as Lazonby beat Appleby A 2-8 and Dalton picked up a 6-4 win at home to Fitz Park B.

In Mixed Rinks League the top two both picked up 8-0 wins as Caldbeck won at Shap and Fitz Park A at home to Temple Sowerby on Thursday, June 15.
Lazonby also took an 8-0 win at home to Appleby, Penrith Friars came away with a 2-6 win at Skelton and Penrith Castle Park lost 2-6 to Fitz Park B.

West Cumbria Mixed Triples League
Sad news in the Mixed Triples League as Frizington have announced that they have pulled out of the league.
They are the third side to have done so this season with Aspatria and Workington B pulling out at the beginning of the season.
The remaining sides were back in league action on Tuesday, June 13, with leaders Whitehaven A wining 7-2 against Cleator Moor and now 13 points back Workington A were pushed by Croft and came away with a 4-5 win.
Wigton moved to joint second with a 7-2 win against Maryport and Seascale pipped Seaton 5-4.
There were two 9-0 wins as Egremont beat Vulcan Park and Harris Park A beat Whitehaven B.

In the fours league Whitehaven A and Workington A are now tied at the top after the round on Friday, June 16.
Whitehaven A picked up a 7-0 win at home to Maryport as Workington A beat third placed Fitz Park 2-5.
Cleator Moor beat fourth placed Whitehaven B 5-2 as Workington B lost 1-6 to Vulcan Park and Seaton beat Cockermouth 5-2.

Cumbria’s Middleton Cup game against Nottinghamshire came down to the last bowl of the game on Saturday, June 17.

After a nervy start Cumbria they carved out a 18 shot led before Nottinghamshire started to fight back to trail by 1 shot going into the final end.
Making three shots with the last bowl Cumbria won 122-199 to take 20 points.
Their final game against Durham take place on July 8 with the Cumbria side needing 7 points to qualify for the next round.

The Cumbria’s women were in Walker Cup action as they went to Railway Institute York to face Derbyshire.
Sadly for Cumbria’s team of N. Fleet, L. Rose, P. Peile, N. Bowe, T. Smitham, R. Forster, L. Metcalfe and V. Forster they were beaten 38-34 by Derbyshire.
