Furness 2nd might have made history again for the second weekend running in the Cumbria Cricket League as Workington reclaim the lead of the Premier Division.
The lead of the Premier Division changed hands on Saturday, June 10, when Carlisle lost to Furness.
Batting first Carlisle’s Graeme Ion made 38 as the hosts were restricted to 164 as Yash Dubey took 3 wickets for 34 and Samson Storey removed 4 for 36.
Yash Dubey then scored 90 not out as Furness successfully chased down Carlisle finishing on 168.
Workington returned to the top with victory at Lindal Moor.
The home side won the toss and batted first with Ryan Gilmour adding 52 as they made 175.
In reply Workington’s Thomas Fox scored 49 and Davis Mills 45 as they reached 179.
Cockermouth won the toss and batted first at Haverigg where a 110 from Gareth White helped take the visiting side to 268.
Egremont welcomed bottom side Wigton to Gillfoot Park where losing the toss the home side were put into the field.
George Johnston’s 24 and Kieran Little’s 25 got Wigton off to a good start before Egremont’s Shaun Bostock took 5 wickets for 28.
When Lewis Little fell on 45 to Olivia Brinsden, Wigton were bowled out for 180.
Chasing Ollie Wilford’s 60 and Vathsal Govind’s 50 not out took Egremont to 181.
Millom fell to the revised target after winning the toss and batting first at Cleator.
The visitors made 211 with Chirag Khurana making 58.
Cleator were then set 173 from 44.4 as the lit target was revised, Darren Clark reached 88 not out as they made 176 to win.
Keswick hosted Whitehaven who won the toss and decided to bat first.
Terance Warde made a century (100) as Whitehaven finished on 195.
Keswick’s Stephen Hindmarch made 48, Ben Sharp 45 and Risith Upamal 42 helped take their side to 196.
The battle at the top continues as Workington host Carlisle on Saturday, June 17, Furness welcome Keswick, Cockermouth face Millom, Haverigg take on Lindal Moor, Egremont travel to Whitehaven and Wigton play Cleator.

Furness 2nd went top of Division One with a big win against Seascale on June 10.
The new league leaders batted first with Stuart Knox scoring 57, Gareth Smith 90, Subhan Shirzad 151 and George Smith 107 as the home reached 423 for 2 wickets.
In reply Seascale were bowled out for 64 with Adam Brown scoring 46 as Mitchell Smith took 7 wickets for 25 and Harris Woods taking the other 2 for 36.
Ulverston drop to second after failing to chase down visiting Hawcoat Park who won the toss and batted first.
Going the full 50 overs Hawcoat’s Tom Stanwix scored 50 as they reached 171.
Jack Dryden’s 40 was not enough to help as Ulverston were bowled out for 130.
Back to back defeats for Dalton as they set Millom 2nd 191 with Daniel Sharpe scoring 38.
Joshua Mackie made 75 and Fred Mcverry scored 63 as the home side reached 195.
Nick Wood scored 139 as Workington 2nd set Kirkby in Furness 293.
Workington’s bowlers then went to work with Paul Fugler scoring 50 as Kirkby were dismissed for 87.
It was a 104 run game between Cockermouth 2nd and Vickerstown.
Batting first Vickerstown were dismissed for 50 as Seth Winter took 4 wickets and Andrew Dodds 5.
Andrew Dodds then scored 23 as Cockermouth reached 54 as Daniel Williams took 5 wickets.
On June 17, leaders Furness 2nd head to Vickerstown, Ulverston face the trip to Millom 2nd, Dalton take on Cockermouth 2nd, Kirkby in Furness face Hawcoat Park and Seascale welcome Workington 2nd.

In Division Two the action was split over the weekend as leaders Whitehaven 2nd chased down Lindal Moor 2nd on Saturday, June 10.
Linda Moor won the toss and batted first with Billy Hughes’ 89 and Dave Mansergh’s 71 taking them to 182.
In a successful chase Whitehaven’s Andrew Cameron scored 66 and Jason Spires’ 43 as they reached 183 to stay clear at the top.
Dalton 2nd batted first and got off to a rocky start before Keith Gilliland’s 40 and Corey Gilliland’s 47 helped take them to 161 as Ulverston 2nd’s Phil Atkinson took 4 wickets 13 runs.
Phil Atkinson then starred with the bat scoring 70 as Ulverston fell short on 133.
On Sunday, June 11, Cleator 2nd batted first against Haverigg 2nd and were bowled out by the visitors for 117 with Adam Blake scoring 33.
Chasing Haverigg’s opening pair of Harrison Bradley with 47 and Anthony Johnson with a 33 not out set the platform as they made 121.
Saturday, June 17, Cleator 2nd host Barrow, Egremont 2nd face Dalton 2nd, Whitehaven 2nd head to Lindal Moor 2nd and Ulverston 2nd take on Haverigg 2nd.
