Reduced Fixtures In National Conference Rugby League Have Big Impact

The National Conference Leagues return after reduced fixtures over May Bank Holiday.

In the only game in the Premier Division on Saturday May 27 as Thatto Heath Crusaders lost 4-48 to Rochdale Mayfield who moved joint top with Hunslet ARLFC.

The league returns on Saturday, June 3, with a bang Hunslet ARLFC host West Hull, Rochdale Mayfield face York Acorn and Wath Brow Hornets travel to Thatto Heath Crusaders.

Hull Dockers take on Wigan St Patricks, Kells welcome Siddal and Leigh Miners Rangers face Lock Lane.

In Division One the top two were meant to be in action on May 27 but West Bowling’s trip to Featherstone Lions was postponed due to Featherstone not being able to raise a team.

The two games that went ahead both ended in a draw as Oulton Raiders drew 18-18 with Stanningley and Ince Rose Bridge were held to a 22-22 draw with Thornhill Trojans.

On Friday, May 26, Pilkington Recs recorded a 16-36 win against Crosfields.

A full fixture list returns in June 3 as West Bowling host Ince Rose Bridge, Heworth take on Oulton Raiders, Skirlaugh face Crosfields, Pilkington Recs travel to Stanningley, Thornhill Trojans face Featherstone Lions and Clock Face Miners welcome Egremont Rangers.

At the top of Division Two Dewsbury Moor Maroons missed out on the chance to go top as they lost 16-24 to Dewsbury Celtic on May 27.

Shaw Cross Sharks beat Wigan St Judes 18-28 and Milford won 38-22 at home to Normanton Knights to move level with East Leeds.

Most teams are back in action on June 3 as table toppers Waterhead Warriors face Dewsbury Moor Maroons, Woolston Rovers take on Wigan St Judes, Barrow Island host Dewsbury Celtic, Shaw Cross Sharks travel to Milford and Saddleworth Rangers welcome Myton Warriors.
