The Sherlocks Confirm Two Intimate Cumbria Gigs Ahead Of New Album Release

By Rachael Grealish

The Sherlocks are set to perform two ‘intimate’ gigs in Cumbria ahead of the release of their new album People Like Me & You.

It was confirmed today, May 30, that the indie rock band will perform at The Yellow Earl in Whitehaven on June 9 and The Meeting Place in Barrow-In-Furness on June 10.

The four-piece is currently on a UK tour ahead of the release of their fourth People Like Me & You, which drops on August 11.

People Like Me & You was described lyrically championing the lives of ‘anxious outsiders feeling out of place at crowded parties to people making a mad rush for the last train after a big night out’, by a preview in Total Ntertainment.

Organisers of the Whitehaven show at The Yellow Earl, Danny Maudling and Josh Shepherd told The Herdwick they are ‘pleased’ The Sherlocks ‘chose’ them for one of their gigs.

They said: “We are so happy we can bring this special intimate gig to the Yellow Earl. The Sherlocks are making a huge push to get their new album up the charts and want to play in small towns to spread their new music far and wide, we are so pleased they chose us for one of their shows.”

The band then supports Britsh legend, Richard Ashcroft, for his Reading performance in July, before heading on a more extensive tour in Autumn 2023.

Tickets for the gig are on sale now and anyone who purchases for these specific gigs gets the ticket, a signed People Like Me & You CD and a bonus CD.
