Then there were two after the Women’s County Cup semi finals.

With both matches played on Sunday, March 20, Stanwix Ladies faced Whitehaven AFC Ladies while defending champions Workington Red Ladies replied the 2019 final against Penrith AFC Ladies.

Played at Borough Park Workington and Penrith seemed to be on the way to a goalless draw when in the 74 minute Sarah Smith headed home for Penrith.

With the only goal of the game Penrith had booked their place back in the final with a 1-0 win.

Stanwix Ladies hosted Whitehaven Ladies and ran out 3-1 winners take their place for the first time in the final.

The final is set to take place on Friday May 6 at Frenchfield, Penrith with kick off at 7pm.
